Explanation of the Ruling on Reciting the Holy Qur’an according to Melodic Modes

Gabriel, peace be upon him, revealed the great Qur’an to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, after he received it from Allah, the Almighty. He recited it before Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him exactly as he received it from Allah. The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him transmittedu it, exactly as he received it, to the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, so they received it fresh and sweet as it was revealed. Then the Muslim reciters transmitted the Qur’an and vowelized it. They recited it exactly as they received it from their sheikhs. However, over the centuries, some people refused to recite the Holy Qur'an but according to maqamat (melodic modes). That is why, and in defense of the Qur'an and the reciters, the author of this book thought it would have been great to gather the scholars' fatwas on reciting the Qur'an according to melodic modes. Therefore, he quoted the texts by scholars regarding the ruling on reciting according to melodic modes, so that Muslims would be aware of this issue and follow what has been proven of his religion.
