Details about Qur'anic Scripting

Qur'anic scripting is of an important impact on memorizing the Qur'anic text. The consistency of scripting is one of the important conditions of correct recitation. That is why Muslims are keen on keeping the Qur'anic scripting exactly as it used to be in the Othman's copies of the Holy Qur'an (copies during Othman's caliphate). Scholars' efforts focused on the copies of the Holy Qur'an that were sent to Mecca, Madinah, Kufa, Basra, and Cham when Othman, may Allah be pleased with him, was a caliph. The first books in this field focused on the science of Qur'anic scripting as they described the way of scripting words and making them similar in size. Then more books in this field were written. However, only few books on Qur'anic scripting written by eastern scholars survived, among which was Al-Hija' of which only two hand-written copies survived. Thus, the verifier thought that it is important to identify students with this book, so he started verifying and publishing it.
